Output Power

This calculator page enables you to calculate three parameters important to designing a hydraulic power pack.  Flow Rate Q (litres/minute), Power N(kW) and Pressure P (bar)

In order to calculate the required Power N(kW), you must enter the following figures:-

1 Pump Flow Q, this is litres/minute.
2 Pump Efficiency, for hydraulic power pack gear pumps this is in the range 0.85-0.95.
3 Pressure P(bar), typical pressures for hydraulic gear pumps would be up to 250 bar.

Then press N to calculate, this will be shown in the result box.

In order to calculate the Pressure P(bar) that could be generated from the motor and pump combination, you must enter the following figures:-

1 Pump Flow Q, this is litres/minute
2 Pump Efficiency, for hydraulic power pack pumps this is in the range 0.85-0.95.
3 Power N (kW), this can range from 0.25 to 55kW for Hydraproducts power pack range.

Then press P to calculate, this will be shown in the result box.

In order to calculate the hydraulic Pump Flow rate Q (l/min), you must enter the following figures:-

1 Power N (kW), this can range from 0.25 to 55kW for Hydraproducts power pack range.
2 Pump Efficiency, for hydraulic power pack pumps this is in the range 0.85-0.95.
3 Pressure P (bar), typical pressures for hydraulic gear pumps would be up to 250 bar.

Then press Q to calculate, this will be shown in the result box.

Useful conversions factors:

1 Litre = 0.22 UK Gallons = 0.26 US Gallon

1 cm3 = 0.061 cu.inch

1kW = 1.34hp

1bar = 14.5psi
