2020 Update – Following on from last year’s blog on overcentre valves and how they work, we catch up with overcentre valves and refresh ourselves on how they have replaced the counterbalance valve as the go-to solution for load control, with the best results being seen when the valve is mounted directly onto the actuator itself.

2020 Update – Following on from last year’s blog on hydraulic fluid viscosity we would like to reinforce how important it is to specify the correct hydraulic fluid for your system; monitoring it regularly to ensure that it is changed on schedule as hydraulic fluid molecules break down over time due to stress; this, in turn greatly reduces the lubrication effects of fluids.

2019 Update – Looking back at our previous blog regarding operational safety in the workplace, strict HSE Guidelines are now being adhered to at a greater rate by businesses, thus safety in the workplace is improving with machinery safety guidelines and safety equipment being more commonly displayed and used.

2019 Update –A quick catch-up from our previous blog which looked at energy saving within the hydraulics industry; one area we previously touched upon was the use of variable speed pumps to which improved the hydraulic footprint. These types of pumps have been shown to improve running costs by up to 80% in some units and they are being used in much higher quantities now their large cost savings have been realised.
